This past year I've found out that I have to be more careful with what I'm eating because I had been having really bad migraines, and food was causing some of it. We had to change the way we were eating.

David and I came up with the BEST pasta in the world. It's all gluten free, fresh and (best of all) has almost no salt! We love Trader Joe's, so all of the ingredients are from there. Keep in mind that you can get similar items from any grocery store.

1 bag Quinoa pasta

1 bag black bean pasta

2 jalapeños, finely diced

4 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tomato, diced

1/2 white onion, diced

1 jar of pasta sauce

1lb ground turkey

2-3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

In a large pot, we bring water to a boil. Make sure it's enough to cover the amount of pasta you're putting in. Add pepper and just a dash of salt. Cook the pasta to your liking, drain the water, and add some oil - we use either avocado or olive oil - to keep the pasta from sticking together.

While the water is being heated, we use a large frying pan to cook the jalapeños and garlic in oil. Try to brown them lightly without burning them. This lets the oil absorb the flavor of both the peppers and garlic to keep your face from being jalapeño'd off. Once they are browned, add the ground turkey and onions and cook on medium heat, stirring regularly. Add the pasta sauce and tomatoes after the turkey is cooked and reduce the heat to a simmer. The sauce is better if simmered for a while, because the flavors all start to blend into each other a little bit.

We serve the pasta with the sauce and a sprinkling of Italian cheese blend on top.
